A Design Consultation is a focused, collaborative session where we organize your ideas and evaluate them against the real constraints of your project.
As a licensed architect, I help you think through building codes, zoning requirements, structural implications, construction feasibility, and design strategy so your decisions are informed, not reactive.
We’ll look at how your goals align with what’s allowable, what’s practical to build, and what will truly add value.
This is not full architectural design. It’s high-level architectural thinking applied at the moment you need it most, the beginning.
You’ll leave with:
Clear priorities and a path forward
Professional insight on feasibility + constraints
Concept-level strategies and options
Next steps (what to gather, who to contact, what to decide)

How it works?
Book + Prepare — short intake & you work to gather information, photos, and documents ahead of time (if you have them)
Meet — We have our 2 hour meeting either virtual, in-office, at your home, or on-site (as appropriate). Recommended at the project site.
Leave with Direction — priorities, recommendations, hand sketches, and next steps.

Survey/plot plan (if available)
Any floor plan ideas, listings, inspection notes, sketches
Your wish list + must-haves
Budget + timeline goals (even if rough)
Consultation Fee
The base fee for a Design Consultation is $500.00,
which includes:
Session up to 2 hours
Covers our travel time (within 25 miles of our office)
Additional time we charge an additional $200 per hour for subsequent consultation time (in 15 minute increments).
Payment is rendered at the conclusion of the session.

Consultation Includes:
A professional “gut check” on your ideas to see if they align with your budget, goals, and local codes.
If you already have a site survey, we can review any setbacks that may be potential constraints.
Spatial Analysis: Walking the space to identify opportunities for natural light, better flow, and structural possibilities.
Lifestyle and project goals. Everyone is different and you have reasons behind your project. We will review your goals and discuss opportunities to best align your goals with your lifestyle and space available.
Talking about “must haves” and “nice to haves” as part of your overall goals of the project.
Budget alignment: Honest talk about current construction costs to ensure you have a clear expectations and a suggested roadmap before you even start.
Clear explanation of the architectural process, permitting, working with contractors, how I support during construction to lower my client’s stress, and what professional services support you need next. I’m here to be your advocate and representative.
